The Climate Today
This is kind of an off-topic post. I woke up this morning and just want to say some things that has been going through my head. I always get these best, worst ideas before I've had enough caffeine.
So here we are on January 19, 2025. It's freezing and blustery outside, par for the course where I live in January. Tik Tok has been shut down overnight because, as my husband claims, the government believes it used by the
Chinese government to steal our information. I've never been on it, never downloaded it, not because I wasn't curious, but because I didn't want to give my other half another reason to complain about it. Personally, I have enough online avenues to distract me. Tik Tok, whether today or tomorrow, will eventually go the way of other media platforms. It will die like MySpace and others because there will be replacements to distract us. Yes, posters will lose some viewers or shut down. We still will be able to find their content to Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. It will all be alright.
I was on Facebook this morning and I see all these posts with the final message that Tik Tok posted that essentially how Trump is going to bring them back. That brings me to the second reason for this post. He is going to be inaugurated as president again tomorrow. Personally, I thing he's going to say whatever brings him more popularity at this point. He's a showman and I have to admit that he's pretty good at it. I don't like or trust the man and I did not vote for him nor the alternative because I just didn't like her personality. Yes, I did vote. There's always other options on the ballot.
The two things together has created this strange environment. After all this is said and done tomorrow, we're still going to keep living and try to make it every day. We're going to keep trying to survive and working to pay our bills. Neither is going to have much effect on my life. Let's all survive this odd environment and there will be brighter and hopefully warmer days tomorrow. Let's keep looking forward to the next new thing and brighter futures. There are people out there who have great ideas and if they have the right resources, they may enrich our lives for the better.
